A family approach to sustainable ranching in South Texas for cattle
and wildlife.

About US

Rancho-De-Santos is named after the late Santos R. Vasquez of Victoria, Texas. He loved family and the beauty of the South-Central Texas rural landscape. Oversight of RS falls primarily to Milt and Dora Thomas (daughter of Santos). Milt Thomas (Ph.D.) has life-long agriculture experience and held several prestigious beef cattle breeding positions in land grant universities in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado/Wyoming. Dora is a Registered Nurse Administrator and has a passion for caring for cows and their calves. In brief, Milt and Dora met because of the Texas AgriLife Research community in South-Central Texas. Then beef cattle helped them visit many of the great cattle-producing places in the world (US, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil), but Texas is home. Many family members contribute to life at RS, which include but are not limited to, the families of John and Caitlin Flores and David Vasquez both of Victoria, Texas, and Josh and Crystal Thomas of Colorado. Many within this family are BQA certified, and their help is always appreciated.
